New Premiere from Cassie Ramone, Formerly of Vivian Girls – Vogue

“The beloved Brooklyn band Vivian Girls officially disbanded in January after a long run of seven years together—a lifetime in band years. The group influenced a good number of other bands with their sixties-filtered-through-eighties take on garage pop. And at the core of their sound was the compellingly honest songwriting of Cassie Ramone, whose lyrics about dream crushes and bad, lingering breakups feel like they were scribbled in a natty journal on the subway.

Now, Ramone is striking out on her own with an LP for Loglady Records, The Time Has Come, due to be released on August 26. Ramone had some assistance from Ariel Pink, who plays bass, but otherwise recorded and mixed the entire thing herself. Her new single, “I Send My Love to You,” is a melancholy ode to lasting love, sung over quiet, reverbed guitar. Take a listen exclusively on Vogue.com, and head here to preorder the album. “
